  • New ERASMUS+ applications for 2023

    The European Parliament adopted the EU budget on November 23. This also includes the budgets for research and innovation. Horizon Europe will have funds of EUR 12.4 billion next year. The Erasmus+ mobility program will receive EUR 3.7 billion.

  • Successful AU-EU Innovation Agenda Stakeholder Event on 23-24 November 2022 in Nairobi

    The European Commission and the African Union Commission hosted a stakeholder dialogue on the AU-EU Innovation Agenda in Nairobi on November 23 and 24, 2022. The event was the culmination of a stakeholder dialogue launched in February this year, which aimed to gather feedback and input from stakeholders and organisations on the draft AU-EU Innovation Agenda. The stakeholder dialogues take place in different formats and bring the views and recommendations of critical African and European actors together.

  • Members of the German Bundestag (MdBs) get informed about the work of the DAAD in Kenya

    From November 12 to November 20, 2022, a delegation of the Parliamentary Group on Eastern Africa of the German Bundestag, led by the Chairperson, Kordula Schulz-Asche (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), visited schools, universities, and projects in Kenya. The visit focused on international exchange and the partnership between Germany and Kenya. We are pleased that the members of parliament Manfred Todtenhausen (FDP), Erwin Rüddel (CDU/CSU), Steffen Janich (AfD), and Cornelia Möhring (DIE LINKE) also sought talks with DAAD funding recipients, alumni and partners in Kenya.

  • Ambassador Sebastian Groth on an inaugural visit to DAAD Regional Office Nairobi

    The new Ambassador for Kenya, Sebastian Groth, visited the DAAD Regional Office in Nairobi on November 16, 2022, and got insights into the DAAD's work, tasks, and premises. Ambassador Groth started his diplomatic career as a cultural attaché in Kenya twenty years ago. He knows the area well and talked to the staff at the regional office about his thoughts and experiences.

  • Networking Meeting for new Partner Institutions in Nairobi, Kenya

    The DAAD Regional Office Nairobi brought together the 10 new East African In-Country/In-Region (ICIR) scholarship programme partner institutions for a networking meeting held at the Sarova Panafric Hotel on October 28, 2022. The meeting sought to introduce the new partner institutions to one another, meet the DAAD team and build on their understanding of the ICIR programme, particularly the administrative responsibilities and expectations on the programme.

According to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the study supports Germany's excellent reputation as a center for science and higher education.
