The DAAD Regional Office for Africa is delighted to invite you to its final dinner talk in 2022 on the topic

Renewable energies as a chance for economic development: Germany and Kenya compared”

It will take place on Tuesday, 29 November 2022, at 7 pm EAT.

Prof. Britta Klagge,  a professor of Economic Geography at the University of Bonn in Germany, will be the main speaker. Her main research area is geographical energy research, with projects in various European countries and in Kenya.

About the presentation: The increasing role of power production from ‚new‘ renewable energies such as wind, geothermal and solar comes with fundamental transformations of existing energy systems. The associated restructuring often engenders conflict but also, in addition to reducing CO2 emissions, holds chances for economic and social development. The lecture analyses these chances for Germany and Kenya and compares them from a geographical perspective.

Dinner Talks are an event format introducing a renowned scientist from Germany with a subject-specific presentation on a topic relevant to our time. Afterward, we encourage our audience – you – to engage with the scientist on issues raised during the talk, not least to initiate and foster potential future collaborations.

Interested? Please register at https://daad.reflact.com/e3xehs3nmwp3/event/registration.html and we will contact you for an invitation to participate.
