The European Commission and the African Union Commission hosted a stakeholder dialogue on the AU-EU Innovation Agenda in Nairobi on November 23 and 24, 2022. The event was the culmination of a stakeholder dialogue launched in February this year, which aimed to gather feedback and input from stakeholders and organisations on the draft AU-EU Innovation Agenda. The stakeholder dialogues take place in different formats and bring the views and recommendations of critical African and European actors together.
From November 12 to November 20, 2022, a delegation of the Parliamentary Group on Eastern Africa of the German Bundestag, led by the Chairperson, Kordula Schulz-Asche (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), visited schools, universities, and projects in Kenya. The visit focused on international exchange and the partnership between Germany and Kenya. We are pleased that the members of parliament Manfred Todtenhausen (FDP), Erwin Rüddel (CDU/CSU), Steffen Janich (AfD), and Cornelia Möhring (DIE LINKE) also sought talks with DAAD funding recipients, alumni and partners in Kenya.
The new Ambassador for Kenya, Sebastian Groth, visited the DAAD Regional Office in Nairobi on November 16, 2022, and got insights into the DAAD's work, tasks, and premises.
Ambassador Groth started his diplomatic career as a cultural attaché in Kenya twenty years ago. He knows the area well and talked to the staff at the regional office about his thoughts and experiences.
