The DAAD Nairobi delightfully hosted almost twenty scholars at a new scholarship holders meeting on Wednesday 2nd May 2024.

The scholars had an exciting moment of interaction with the Director Dr. Dorothee Weyler, Ms. Anja Bengelstorff a Programme Officer, and Dr. Steve Mutusi, a DAAD alumnus, followed by an elaborate question and answer session in preparation for their trip.

The scholars will be traveling to Germany this year to pursue their master’s and PhD studies. Of the masters’ students, some will be joining the EPOS Programme, which offers scholarships to participants from developing nations to study development-related postgraduate courses at selected universities in Germany. Others will participate in the Helmut Schmidt Programme (PPGG Programme), which assists future leaders from developing nations who want to advance democracy and social justice.

Question and answer session

The rest of the scholars, who will be pursuing their PhD studies in Germany will benefit from the country’s wide range of high-quality programmes and research opportunities.

In preparation for the next intake, the DAAD will be hosting an Open Day on Saturday, 11th May 2024 at the Goethe Institut Auditorium, from 10 am to 4 pm.
