DAAD is pleased to invite former DAAD scholarship holders to submit applications for funding of small Alumni events.
This invitation is extended to DAAD Alumni from Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia and the DR Congo.
You may apply for funding of small Alumni events scheduled between the end of
April and December 2026.
What can be funded:
- Events that promote the scientific/thematic exchange among Alumni
- Workshops that contribute to the professional training of Alumni
DAAD is particularly interested in supporting events that contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Networking and activities surrounding the event are welcome.
*Grant size: up to 12,000 EUR per event
*Eligibility: Only former scholarship holders of DAAD (having received individual DAAD funding for at least 3 months) and DAAD Alumni associations can apply
*Application deadline: Friday, January 30, 2026.
*Decisions to be communicated to applicants: Around mid March, 2026
Applications are to be submitted to the DAAD Nairobi office via alumni.nairobi@daad.de. Please read all guidelines closely and use only the templates attached. Incomplete and late applications cannot be considered.
Each application package must contain:
- Application form
- Project description
- Event program
- List of prospective participants
- Financial plan
Please note that the participants’ list does not need to be final. We strongly encourage you to invite Alumni who not yet participated in previous Alumni events. Event applications need to contain clearly defined tangible outcomes. Proposed speakers should preferably be Alumni from relevant fields.
Please note that funds are limited and subject to approval. Due to the high number of applications we receive every year, not all applications might be considered.
