Proposal Writing Workshop: Opening Pathways to Doctoral Research in Germany
The training focused on strengthening participants’ capacity to develop competitive PhD proposals and navigate the application process for DAAD-funded programmes. Through practical sessions and interactive discussions, participants gained valuable insights into the requirements, procedures, and strategies necessary for securing research funding and placements in Germany.
As one of the world’s leading organisations for international academic exchange, the DAAD offers a wide range of funding opportunities for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. During the workshop, participants were introduced to several scholarship programmes, including Research Grants for Doctoral Programmes in Germany, Bi-nationally Supervised Doctoral Degrees , and Short-Term Research Grants.
The DAAD’s current call for PhD funding opportunities in Germany is now open. The deadline for application is 30 September 2026. To help prospective applicants navigate the application process, the DAAD will hold two web seminars on 1 July 2026 and 8 September 2026. The sessions will offer practical guidance on the scholarship programme, application requirements, and selection process, as well as provide an opportunity for participants to have their questions answered by DAAD staff.
