Session on European Programmes and EU–Kenya@50 STI Champions
on Thursday, 21 May 2026 | 14:00–17:00 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Nairobi, Kenya
As part of the STI for Society Week 2026, the session on “European Programmes and EU–Kenya@50 STI Champions” will bring together researchers, innovators, institutions, and policymakers to explore European research and innovation funding opportunities and strengthen EU–Kenya scientific collaboration.
Horizon Europe funding, training, and networking opportunities will be presented.
The interactive workshop will feature presentations on Horizon Europe, EU Member States’ programmes, and other European STI funding mechanisms, alongside testimonials from successful researchers and project participants. It will also include participation from EURAXESS Africa, with Dr. Yedilfana Setarge delivering a presentation on EURAXESS Africa services and guiding participants through the EURAXESS platform and the EU Funding & Tenders (Participant Portal).
The session will showcase concrete achievements and impacts from past and ongoing initiatives while providing practical guidance on partnership building, proposal development, participation requirements, and strategic areas of cooperation between Kenyan and European research institutions.
The DAAD will make a brief presentation on the New Centre for Applied and Responsible AI.
