Connecting Education and Industry: Positioning Germany as a choice Study Destination at the 18th Higher Education Fair and Skills Expo 2026
The Expo brought together universities, recruitment agencies, career advisors, students, parents of recent high school graduates, and key players from across the education and employment sectors—all in one buzzing space focused on one big question: How do we prepare young people for the future of work?
The timing couldn’t have been better. With the recent release of KCSE results and global conversations shaped by the Future of Jobs Report 2025 from the World Economic Forum, discussions around technology, the green transition, and shifting demographics felt more real than ever. The message was clear: the world of work is changing fast, and students need to be ready.
Over the two days, over 5,000 visitors streamed through the Expo—many of them fresh high school graduates, accompanied by parents and guardians eager to explore the next step. There was excitement, curiosity, and lots of thoughtful questions about career pathways, course selection, and skills that truly matter in today’s job market.
At the DAAD booth, we had the pleasure of engaging directly with prospective students interested in studying in Germany. We shared insights on accessing academic programmes, explained scholarship opportunities, and introduced visitors to what DAAD stands for and how we support international students. For those considering postgraduate studies, conversations went deeper—covering funding options, application processes, and how to plan strategically for an international academic journey.
This event wasn’t just about handing out brochures—it was about real conversations, meaningful connections, and helping students make informed decisions about their futures. The Expo created an interactive environment where dialogue flowed easily and networking happened naturally.
We would like to thank the Nation Media Group for organizing this impactful event!
