DAAD Nairobi Regional Office Attends 3rd October German Unity Day Celebration: Tag der Deutschen Einheit
The event held at Shamba Events, Nairobi was a moment to honour the strength of unity, the value of freedom, and the courage of those who helped shape a peaceful and united Germany, under the invitation of the German Embassy in Nairobi-Federal Foreign Office.
The event was graced by notable guests including Kenyan Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Education, Prof. Julius Ogamba, H.E. Sebastian Groth, Ambassador of Germany to Kenya. Both, welcomed by DAAD Nairobi Regional Office Director, Dr. Dorothee Weyler, visited the DAAD booth where the CS, Education was briefed by Dr. Weyler on DAAD’s funding instruments in Kenya and Eastern Africa, notably the Centres of African Excellence. Other invited guests also visited the DAAD booth, where DAAD staff explained on postgraduate opportunities, in country, in region and to Germany. The event, also under the German month theme ‘Rangi za Urafiki’ (colors of friendship), highlighted the strong ties between Germany and Kenya, as well as the shared commitment to education, partnership, and unity.
